Why boutique school portraits?

Boutique school portraits are custom, candid, studio simulated imagery. The portraits created capture real moments and genuine emotion. This is a custom service that will provide parents with a unique, emotive portrait of their child. This service will also serve as a fundraiser for your school and 10% of net profits will be presented as a gift to Kiddie Academy Boca Raton.

Does C. Gonzalez Photography offer individualized portrait sessions for children and families?

Yes! C. Gonzalez Photography is available for commissioned portrait sessions for births, birth space sessions (fresh 48), as well as childhood and family portrait sessions. C. Gonzalez Photography also provides professional services for commercial and corporate clients. If you are interested in learning more about what we offer our clients, please contact the studio directly.

We have had several Kiddie Academy families turn into portrait session clients and love working with our Kiddie Academy families both in the school portrait setting and in a more personalized and tailored setting to tell their family story through imagery.

What to expect:

C. Gonzalez Photography will be on location at Kiddie Academy Boca Raton capturing portraits of students that have completed the sign up process. All portraits will be taken from the middle of the chest up. All portraits will be taken against a black background, isolating the child, their expressions, and personality. Your child's portraits will be presented to you in an online gallery for viewing and ordering.

Sign ups will take place and can be completed by following this link or by filling out the manual sign up sheets posted in your child's classroom.

What day will my child have their portrait taken?

Once you have completed the sign up process, your child's school portrait day will depend on their class.

  • Tues. May 2nd | Caterpillars* | Butterflies | Tree Frogs
  • Wed. May 3rd | Jaguars* (Individual Portraits and Cap & Gown) | Boas | Geckos
  • Thurs. May 4th | Toucans | Squirrel Monkeys | Siblings* (SIGN UP HERE)

What to wear:

Visit our School Portrait Styling Pinterest Board for styling ideas.

All portraits are taken against a black background, so black or very dark colors are discouraged so your child can stand out. Patterns, or textures, such as lace are encouraged. Please avoid neon colors as they reflect onto the skin, pure whites and clothing with large logos or graphics as they may be cut off due to the nature of the portraits. Solids and patterns are best.

How long do we have to order?

You will receive an e-mail notification and a school reminder that your online gallery is ready for viewing and ordering. Online galleries will be published and delivered to the e-mail address we have on file and will be kept live for 7 days during the ordering week. Please be prepared to place your order before your gallery expires.

What will we be able to order?

Products available to order in your online gallery will include print packages and digital negatives. Digital negatives are high resolution digital files. There will also be additional add on products, such as wall art and larger prints available. All prints and products will be printed through our studio's professional photographic lab. 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, and 11x14 prints will be printed individually, ready for framing, not in sheets. Wallets will be printed in sets of 8 and will be scored and die cut to be individually punched out of the sheet, no cutting reqired.

What is your philosophy on digital negatives?

I firmly believe that it's important to have your session images archived and preserved digitally. In my opinion we are long past the times of purchasing just an 8x10 print here and a 5x7 print there. Digital negatives are in high demand and we all want to share them with friends and family via email and social networking sites, as well as preserve them for longevity. Photographs gain value over time. Digital archiving and preservation has really become so simple and affordable. I walk all of my clients through the best ways to archive, print and share digital files. For those reasons, I offer high resolution digital negatives. Purchasing digital negatives allows you to print unlimited copies and enlarge (with our partner lab) at your discretion.

Please Note:

These images are captured in a short time period with your child. Due to the scheduling arranged with the school, I have less than three minutes with each student. I do my best to capture a variety of expressions and conjure authenticity from your son or daughter during this time. Some children are naturally more comfortable than others when it comes to photographs. Each child in the gallery has multiple proof options. Some may have more than others. I do not believe in forcing a child to "perform" just for the sake of capturing "the shot" - but rather I do my best to work with your child, make them comfortable, and enjoy that short minute or two we have. Please understand that all images are shot with the goal of being "real" - who they are in that moment. Some laugh, some cry, some stand stoic and pensive, some bounce around and giggle... and I attempt to artistically capture all of this. The options included in the gallery of your son or daughter will be the best shots I have on file and I hope you enjoy each of them! Thank you for your understanding.

How do I know what class my child is currently in?

Kiddie Academy Boca Raton's classes are divided into classrooms based on the age of the child. Because of this, children may transition to the next class at different times throughout the calendar year. If you are still unsure of which classroom your child is in on the week of school portraits  please do not hesitate to reach me or check in with Mr. Jorge at the school office. Your child's name will be printed on the classroom sign up sheet the school has provided for sign up purposes.

Below is a list of the age groups of each of the 8 Kiddie Academy classrooms.

  • Caterpillars:  Infants
  • Butterflies: One year olds - 16 month olds
  • Geckos: 18 month olds - 2 year olds
